I am currently in my 9th year of international teaching. My husband, Russell, and I have taught at several international schools and have enjoyed and learnt so much from our experiences.
My first post at an international school was actually in my home country, South Africa. I taught at the American International School for 5 years. I loved the of the small school community and, by listening to the stories and experiences of my colleagues, was excited about the possibilities that international teaching brought.
After 5 years we built up the courage to move abroad. We got jobs at Shanghai International Community School where I taught second grade for 3 years. Living in Shanghai and teaching at SCIS brought about enormous changes in my view of the world and education.
We are now living in Doha, Qatar with our three children. I am working at Qatar Academy as a Technology Integration Facilitator. I love working across the primary school as we the teachers and students strive to integrate technology to improve learning.
